Normal apoptosis involves the removal of dead cells and the subsequent development of new ones. The most typical kind of malignant tumor of the oral cavity is OSCC. Patients with oral precancer and cancer are tested utilizing immunohistochemistry for the expression of the Bcl-2 gene component. Oral epithelial dysplasia develops into squamous cell cancer as a result of Bcl-2. Immunohistochemical staining is a popular diagnostic method used to identify aberrant cell development. The distribution and localization of biomarkers like Bcl-2 in various biological tissue regions aid in the identification of oral cancer and precancer.

WHY?

In order to distinguish between oral precancer and cancer, the clinicopathological features and the expression of the Bcl-2 oncoprotein are often associated.
