Description :
WHAT IS IT?
Also known as the Immunohistochemistry Biopsy Tissue test for CK(Cytokeratin) 19. The procedure is done to find any malignant cells or tissues in the bladder. Additionally, it's utilized to test for cholangiocarcinoma and any condition with an epithelial cause. Before the presence of malignant tissues or cells is confirmed, during therapy, and following administration of treatment, the test is conducted. The testing procedure is unisex and the same for all age groups. Bladder cells will be subjected to a straightforward biopsy with the use of radiography or ultrasound technology.
WHY?
If the test results are positive, bladder cancer might be proven to exist, and appropriate medication and therapy could then be given. This test can be carried out while the patient is receiving therapy to evaluate how well it is working. The presence of cholangiocarcinoma or any other disease with an epithelial origin can also be confirmed by the level of CK 19 in the suspicious tissue.
PRECAUTIONS
Any additional medical problems or medications that you may be taking should be disclosed to your doctor. Additionally, disclose to the doctor any allergies you may have or any surgeries you may have had before to the testing. The doctor or the attendant will provide the necessary advice based on your circumstances. Your blood pressure and diabetes may be checked right before the exam. To make the testing easier, the patient would get a robe.
